Volllaststunde – ein ungeeignetes Vergleichkriterium

Eigentlich ist die Definition von Volllaststunden nicht sonderlich kompliziert. Kraftwerke lassen sich zum Teil mit dieser Maßeinheit vergleichen, die besagt wie viele Stunden  ein Kraftwerk unter voller Last gefahren werden muss, um zum tatsächlichen Jahresertrag zu kommen. Beeinflussende Berichterstattung erkennt man daran, dass sie die Verwendung das die Maßeinheit missverständlich verwendet wird. Das wohl berühmteste Beispiel ist ein Zitat von Jürgen Großmann (RWE), welches von Stromwende Kritikern gerne verwendet wird:

Die Förderung der Solarenergie in Deutschland bezeichnete Großmann als so sinnvoll “wie Ananas züchten in Alaska“. Solarstrom gebe es in Deutschland an 900 Stunden im Jahr,,, (Quelle: Merkur Online)

Tatsächlich kommt eine PV-Anlage in Deutschland meist nur auf etwas mehr als 900 Volllaststunden im Jahr. In anderen Worten an durchschnittlich 2 Stund und 28 Minuten je Tag würde die Anlage vollständig die Nennleistung ausschöpfen.
